Dumortierite Slabs – Lapidary Grade Cutting Material

Dumortierite is a durable and visually striking gemstone material known for its rich blue to violet tones, often accented by soft mottling or quartz-rich areas. Its denim-blue and lavender hues make it especially appealing for bold, wearable cabochons and statement jewelry pieces.

Highly regarded for both its strength and polish, Dumortierite is an excellent choice for lapidary artists seeking a material that combines beauty with reliability. It cuts cleanly, holds detail well, and finishes with a smooth, glossy surface.

Our slabs are cut from carefully selected rough chosen for color saturation, pattern quality, and structural stability. We strive to maintain a minimum slab thickness of approximately 0.25 inches (6 mm), though some slabs may be slightly thicker to allow greater flexibility in cutting.
