Mushroom Rhyolite Slabs – Lapidary Grade Cutting Material
Mushroom Rhyolite is a distinctive volcanic stone known for its soft earthy tones and orbicular or “mushroom-like” patterning. Shades typically range from warm grays and taupes to muted browns, creams, and subtle green undertones. The natural spotted and cloud-like formations give this material a unique, organic appearance that makes each slab one of a kind.
This material is favored by lapidary artists for its dependable cutting characteristics and attractive finished polish. Mushroom Rhyolite works beautifully for cabochons, statement pendants, bolo ties, and designer jewelry pieces that highlight natural, earthy aesthetics.
Our slabs are cut from carefully selected rough chosen for pattern, stability, and cutting yield. We strive to maintain a minimum slab thickness of approximately 0.25 inches (6 mm), though some pieces may be slightly thicker.
