Our Slab Quality Standard
At Lakeport Lapidary, every slab we offer is cut from hand-selected rough chosen specifically for pattern quality, stability, and cutting potential. We focus on producing lapidary-ready material that maximizes usable surface area while maintaining consistent thickness for reliable cabochon production.
To support professional and hobbyist cutters alike, we strive to maintain a minimum slab thickness of approximately 0.25 inches (6 mm) across our inventory. Many slabs may be slightly thicker, providing additional flexibility for larger cabochons, freeform designs, and specialty cuts. Each slab is inspected before listing to ensure it meets our quality expectations for structure, pattern clarity, and overall cutting yield.
YOU WILL BE PURCHASING THE EXACT STONE PICTURED. All slabs are pictured Dry Front - Dry Back- Wet Front whenever possible
Because all material is natural stone, minor variations in thickness can occur, but our goal is always to provide slabs that are dependable, workable, and worthy of your best designs.
